While I was painting this we were busy renovating. Half of our lives were in boxes, my son started with Grade 1 (which was more of an adjustment for me than him) and everything was in turmoil. Looking at the painting I get a sense of the disorder and the chaos at the time. We as humans often choose to forget the disruption and the upset and focus on the beauty of life. That is probably also the reason why we decide to have more children. We quickly forget about the lack of sleep and the little freedom we had at the time!
The blue waxbill must be one of the most beautiful birds in Africa. It is just so lovely it makes me happy looking at it!
And flowers…. well need I say more 😉
